Moscow-based R-Pharm was the leading Russian pharmaceutical company in 2020, according to the ranking that considered revenue, revenue growth, net profit, net profit growth, number of drugs registered, and the number of approvals to conduct clinical trials. Furthermore, among the listed domestic companies, R-Pharm ranked highest by revenue and profit for the year. Next was Biocad from Saint Petersburg, with an overall score of 45.53 points.

* The source specified the following information about the scoring: "Companies were evaluated according to six criteria using the weighting coefficient method: revenue for 2020 (weight 30%, maximum score - 30), change in revenue for the year (10%), net profit (30%), change in profit for the year (10%), number of drugs registered on the company (10%) and the number of approvals issued to the company to conduct clinical trials (10%). For the final result, points for all parameters are summed up, companies are ranked by their sum. The maximum possible total score is 100."

The study excluded subsidiaries and representations of international companies.
