According to a survey in the Philippines on April 2021, around 82 percent of respondents stated that the main cause of grievance and complaints during the the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic was due to the loss of employment and limited opportunity. In 2020, the country's unemployment rate was at 3.36 percent which was higher than the previous year's data.
