Reactions by victims of gender violence and stalking in Italy Q1 2021
Between January and March 2021, in Italy, almost 7.4 thousand calls were made directly by victims to 1522, a gender violence and stalking helpline. Among those who experienced such abuses, 625 women were scared for their safety. Moreover, 600 victims reported increased levels of anxiety and 508 individuals declared to feel extremely uncomfortable. 84 people were scared for their life. Sometimes, this fear might lead the victim to decide not to press charges against the abuser.
