According to a November 2020 survey in the Philippines on electronic devices used for distance learning, 27 percent of household heads stated that their household members who were enrolled in a distance learning modality already had electronic devices even before enrolling. In comparison, 12 percent of respondents stated that they bought electronic devices that were used for online learning.

The survey question was phrased as: "For the device such as a laptop/tablet/smartphone, TV or radio that […] will use for blended learning, was it…?"
The survey was conducted nationwide with 600 respondents in Balance Luzon, and 300 each in Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
