In 2021, Iberia, the flag carrier airline of Spain, reported revenue to the amount of over 2.7 billion euros, a significant decrease in comparison to 2019, when the airline's revenue was at over 5.6 billion euros. The large decrease in revenue is due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus, which resulted in the grounding and lowered operation of passenger planes in 2020.
