Male and female tech employees' responsibility for housework during COVID-19 pandemic
During the COVID-19 global pandemic that began in 2020, which has led to extensive lockdown measures all around the globe, a disproportionate share of gender-identified women has taken on the majority of household work compared to gender-identified men, with 42 and 11 percent of respondents answering as such, respectively. As such, the pandemic appears to have worsened the gender inequality already persisting in the tech industry.
