Population of Poland 1980-2023, by age

* From edition of the Yearbook 2006 the data on the size and structure of population for the period of 1989—1999 are changed (they are lower than those published before). Data for these years are recalculated considering the results of the Population Census 2002. For these years all demographic rates are calculated on the basis of new amount of population. Revaluation concerns only national data by sex and age as well as by the population living in urban and rural areas; data for further administrative division (voivodships, powiats, gminas) have not changed.
The aim of this estimation was to correct the difference (about 392 thousand persons) between the amount of population which was the result of the population balance made on the basis of the National Census 1988, and the results of the Na-tional Population and Housing Census 2002.
