In 2022, around 87 percent of Germans considered the regional origin of fresh fruit and vegetables very important or important. The same was true regarding bread and bakery products for 81 percent of respondents. Meanwhile, 9 percent of respondents paid attention to regional confectionery or savory snacks. The graph is based on a survey conducted in Germany in May 2023 to determine opinions on the importance of regional food origin, by product group.
