Russia had 220 complexes and bases for ski tourism as of August 2021. Furthermore, ski resorts across the country offered 12 thousand hotel rooms. In 2018, more than two million people purchased a day of skiing at Russian ski objects. The country had the second-largest number of ski areas in Europe after Germany. In total, nearly 4.3 million Russians participated in skiing as of 2020.
