According to a survey conducted among over 15,000 respondents in the U.S., approximately 63 percent of home buyers who were actively looking to buy a home in the next year have been searching for more than three months as of the second quarter of 2022. This was lower than the same period in 2021 when 66 percent of active buyers had been looking for more than three months. From all generations, Gen X struggled the most with finding a home to buy quickly (65 percent). In the second quarter of 2022, roughly 18 percent of U.S. adults were planning a home purchase in the next year.
