The volume of coal produced in Russia was forecast to increase from 402.1 million metric tons in 2020 to 668 million metric tons in 2035 under the optimistic scenario by the Russian Ministry of Energy. Coal production was expected to grow at lower rates under the conservative scenario, expected at 485 million metric tons in 2035.
