Distribution of life insurance investment assets in Ghana 2018
As of 2018, before the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the share of investment assets in the Ghanaian life insurance market was highest in terms of land and buildings held as an investment, which covered nearly 24 percent of the total life insurance assets. Moreover, 20 percent of the investment assets were term deposits held at a licensed bank in the country, while 17.25 percent were Government of Ghana securities.
