According to a survey on the relationship status among young Chinese conducted in June 2021, on average, 54.1 percent of respondents who were single said that they would prioritize personality when choosing the other half. Values and physical appearance were other important factors to consider among single people in China when finding their desired partners.
Leading considerations when choosing a romantic partner among single people in China as of June 2021
Respondent profiles:
males accounted for 63.2 percent and females 36.8 percent;
18-20 years accounted for 12.8 percent , 21 to 30 years 42.6 percent, 31 to 40 years 23.8 percent and 41 years and older 20.8 percent.
