In 2022, the geographical distribution of the population at risk of poverty in Spain shows a north-south divide. The autonomous cities of Melilla and Ceuta, together with the Canary Islands, topped the list with more than 36 percent of their population at risk of poverty or social exclusion. On the other hand, less than 16 percent of the population of the Basque Country and Navarre were at risk.

- At risk of poverty (60% of the median income per consumption unit).
- With severe material deprivation (with deprivation in at least 7 concepts from a list of 13).
- In households without employment, or with low employment intensity (households in which the members of working age did so for less than 20% of their work potential during the reference year)."
