Raw sugar exports from Eswatini 2017-2021, by destination country
As of 2019/2020, raw sugar exports from South Africa amounted to around 353.2 thousand metric tons. Compared to the previous year, this was an increment of some 68.9 thousand metric tons. Moreover, the EU and UK exported 227.7 thousand metric tons and 35 thousand metric tons of raw sugar, respectively, in the same period. Furthermore, Kenya exported 73.2 thousand metric tons of the commodity in 2019/2020, which was significantly higher than the preceding year. Overall, sugar exports from Kenya were subject to severe fluctuations. On the other hand, since 2017/2018, Botswana has been steadily increasing its raw sugar imports from Eswatini.
