Value of average annual food imports by commodity in Africa 2010-2019
Between 2010 and 2019, the total average annual food imports in Africa amounted to 74.1 billion U.S. dollars. Of those, cereals were the most imported commodity in the African continent with an average annual import value of 22.8 billion U.S. dollars. Furthermore, vegetable oils followed with an import worth 8.5 billion U.S. dollars. Sugars ranked third with a value of 6.4 billion U.S dollars during the period under review.
