Production of pulses in Sub-Saharan Africa 2007-2029
In the period between 2017 and 2019, the average volume of pulse production in Sub-Saharan Africa amounted to roughly 17.8 million metric tons. Compared to a decade prior, the volume of production of pulses incremented by over 5.4 million metric tons. Furthermore, it is projected that by 2029, production of roots in the sub-region will continue to increase, reaching around 19.8 million metric tons.
