According to the survey, as of June 2021, around 48.1 percent of Chinese respondents said the leading reason for them to start a new relationship or getting married is that they met the right person. Also, about 31 percent of the respondents stated that they started to date someone or getting married because they felt lonely.

The survey was conducted among:
63.2 percent male respondents and 36.8 percent of female respondents.
12.8 percent aged 18 to 20 years, 42.6 percent aged 21 to 30 years, 23.8 percent aged 31 to 40 years, 20.8 percent aged 41 years and above.
