Number of students from Sub-Saharan Africa in Egypt 2016, by country
As of 2016, the total number of students from Sub-Saharan Africa studying in Egypt amounted to 3,040, ranking the region as the second highest region with students in the North African country. Of these, the majority originated from Nigeria, with a share of around 42.5 percent. Moreover, Somalia, Comoros, and Senegal followed with 221, 219, and 210 students, respectively. It is worth noting that, as of the same year in Egypt, over 35 thousand foreign students in the country were registered as being from unknown regions.
