Egyptian students in tertiary education abroad in the Arab States 2000-2017
The number of Egyptian students at the tertiary level studying abroad was estimated at 34,759 in 2017. Of those, 13,979 students were registered in education institutes in the Arab States. This was the highest value in the last ten years. It also represented a slight increase of 90 students compared to 2016. Since 2000, the number of internationally outbound Egyptian students in the Arab states has been on the rise. It grew from 3,067 that year, which represented an overall increase of 355.8 percent compared to 2017.
