Expected monthly salary of ideal partners in China 2020, by age and gender
In China, men are still considered as the major bread earner in a relationship. In 2020, women aged between 21 and 30 years expected their future partners to have a monthly salary above 13,145 yuan, while men at the same age only expected their partners to earn 4,082 yuan. The gender gap of salary expectations narrowed when it came to older generations.
