In 2021, the largest share of cosmetics e-commerce revenue in Russia was earned by universal and broad profile stores. Online stores specializing in self-care cosmetics accounted for three percent of the total sales in the market in that year.

The study included 48 online stores of beauty category (specializing in retail of decorative and self-care cosmetics, perfumes, products for manicure and pedicure masters, and make-up artists) listed in the 1,000 largest Russian online stores by orders volume, four online stores of network marketing companies, and two largest universal marketplaces - Wildberries and Ozon.
Only online sales of cosmetics in the Russian territory were taken into consideration (excluding export sales).
