As of 2020, there were a total of 78 correctional facilities in Morocco. Of these, the majority were local prisons, which added up to 66. Other penitentiaries such as agriculture-based prisons and reform and education centers reached a total number of seven and three, respectively. Overall, the country had a total prison capacity of over 51 thousand in 2017.
