OTC online sales growth in the U.S. 2020, by category

In 2020, pain killers registered the highest online sales growth in the United States, compared to other segments in over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceuticals. With a year-over-year change of 164 percent, sales of pain relief drugs performed better than allergy medicines (143 percent) or cough and cold (131 percent). Probiotics showed the lowest change, as their online sales grew by 58 percent. Instacart and Walmart were among the merchants reporting the highest OTC sales growth in the U.S.
