As of March 2025, Nigeria had 10 non-OPEC rigs. Non-OPEC rigs include the ones outside of the OPEC group and shale oil producers. In March of the previous year, the rig count was higher, compared to 2025. Overall, Nigeria has some of the highest number of active oil rigs on the African continent.
