Work and income were the most common concerns of residents in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area about moving to rural areas, according to a survey conducted in June 2022. While 50.2 percent of the respondents expressed worries about employment and income, around one-fourth of the respondents named personal relationships and access to shopping facilities and public transportation as leading concerns.
