As of 2017, 85 percent of DJI's income came from its consumer drone division. In the early stages of the civilian drone industry, consumer drones accounted for the largest share of products. However, as technology advances, capabilities increase which in return makes UAVs more relevant for commercial use. For instance, DJI has an agricultural drone product line. The drones can fertilize crops, have seeding capabilities, and can be employed for the analysis of crop growth.
