Opinion on male and female student athlete equal compensation in the U.S. in 2021

Student athletes who play college sports in the United States are not compensated for their performance, and there is some debate over whether or not colleges should be allowed to compensate their athletes. During a survey conducted in the U.S. in 2021, 40 percent of respondents stated that if colleges compensated student athletes, they strongly believed that male and female student athletes should be compensated equally for playing the same sport, regardless of how much revenue each sport generates. Meanwhile, nine percent of respondents strongly disagreed with this statement.
