In 2020, the European country with the least reliable long-distance and high-speed passenger rail service was Lithuania, where more than 88 percent of the train services were cancelled. During the same year, around six percent of the long-distance passenger rail services in all 27 member countries of the European Union were cancelled. The most reliable service could be found in Portugal, where only 0.46 percent of trains were cancelled. A higher percentage of services cancelled means a lower reliability.
