Largest occupations that pay less than housing wage in the U.S. in 2024
In 2024, 14 of the 20 largest occupations in the United States paid wages that were less than the housing wages of one- or two-bedroom housing. In this category, construction trade workers had the highest hourly wage of 25.61 U.S. dollars but fell about 1.13 U.S. dollars short of the one-bedroom housing wage. This means that a majority of the largest occupation in the U.S. earn below the 60th percentile wage, making one- or two-bedroom housing not affordable for them.
