Value added of travel and tourism to GDP in Tanzania 2019-2021

Travel and tourism added around four billion U.S. dollars to Tanzania's economy in 2021. The contribution to the Tanzanian GDP increased by eight percent compared to the previous year, when the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic strongly affected the tourism sector. Despite the improvement, the value remained below that recorded prior to the health crisis.
