Access to health services in Mexico is restricted by various socio-economic aspects. However, these limitations are not homogeneous throughout the national territory. According to a survey carried out in the country between July and August 2020, just over a quarter of respondents residing in the capital in whose household there was at least one person with symptoms of an illness that did not attend a medical consultation, said they had not done so because appointments were given to late or not given at all. In comparison, in the Bajío region, this figure amounted to 57 percent.
