In 2011, approximately 9.7 million out of 26.8 million people with disability in India were workers. The majority of disabled Indian workers were involved in the agricultural industry, with around 2.98 million agricultural laborers and 2.27 million cultivators. Meanwhile, well over 400 thousand disabled people were working in household industries.
