The non-financial business segment of the Russian company Sber earned a revenue of 47.6 billion Russian rubles in the third quarter of 2021, marking an increase of over 260 percent from the corresponding period of the previous year. To compare, in the first three months of 2020, non-financial services brought Sber 8.5 billion Russian rubles.
What are Sber's non-financial services?
In recent years, Sberbank developed a digital ecosystem of services not related to banking and finance. The company operates in e-commerce (with services like SberMarket and Samokat), FoodTech and mobility (Delivery Club and Citimobil) health (SberHealth and Eapteka), entertainment (Okko and Rambler Group), cyber security (Bi.Zone), and cloud services (SberCloud), among others. Some of the services were launched by the company, while others were acquired after they entered the respective markets.
Sberbank to Sber
In 2020, Sberbank went through a rebranding to Sber in order to emphasize its inclusion of non-financial services. Furthermore, several brands in the company's digital ecosystem have Sber at the beginning of their titles, such as SberLogistics and SberFood. Brand Finance ranked Sber as the third-strongest brand worldwide in 2021, with only WeChat and Ferrari ahead of it.
