In 2022, Moroccan currency in circulation reached an approximate value of 373 billion Moroccan dirhams (MAD), roughly 37.1 billion U.S. dollars. In the previous year, around 337.7 billion MAD (roughly 33.65 billion U.S. dollars) of the currency were put in circulation by Bank Al-Maghrib, Morocco's central bank, registering a lower value compared to 2022. Furthermore, banknotes in the value of 200 MAD, and coins in the value of one dirham, were the main denominations circulating in Morocco as of the same year.
