Vote breakdown for the second round of the French regional elections 2021, by gender

The second round of regional elections was held in France on Sunday, June 27, 2021, and polling shows that the votes vary only slightly depending on gender. Women were 35 percent likely to vote for the left versus 34 percent for men, 39 percent to vote for the right-wing coalition compared to one point less for men, and 19 percent likely to vote for the Rassemblement National, which was two points less than their male counterparts.

The most striking difference, however, was in the abstention rate: 71 percent for women, compared to 58 percent for men. In fact, the abstention rate in regional elections has never been higher than in 2021, for both the first and second rounds.
