In 2021, a survey on consumer preference for cannabis in Thailand found that the leading reason among consumers who were against trying cannabis-infused food and drinks was that it was seen as a form of drug abuse. Other leading reasons were because it was unusual and the consumer has personal underlying health conditions.

From a total of 1,171 respondents, around 49.2 percent of respondents stated that they would not consume food and drinks with cannabis as an ingredient.
