Millions of tons of waste are sent the world's largest landfills every year. Approximately 7.3 million tons of waste are shipped every year to the Mesquite landfill site in Brawley, United States, which is more than any other landfill site worldwide. The North American country is also home to the Apex Regional landfill site, which receives some 3.3 million tons of waste anually.
