Attitudes towards abortion by religion Argentina

A survey carried out in Argentina in 2019 showed that more than half of catholic and evangelist respondents (57.7 and 50.3 percent, respectively) believed that abortion should only be allowed in special circumstances. At the same time, 58.4 percent of Argentinian respondents without a religion stated the woman should have the right to abortion whenever she chooses to.

In December 2020, abortion in Argentina was legalized up until the 14th week of pregnancy. Before the law passed, abortion was only decriminalized in cases where the pregnant person's life or health was in danger, or if the pregnancy was the result of rape.
