According to a 2020 survey carried out among doctors in Brazil, one in every two surveyed physicians practiced medicine in both private and public institutions in the South American country. Additionally, close to three in every ten stated working purely in the private sector, while every fifth worked exclusively in public institutions. By 2023, the number of physicians in Brazil is estimated to reach around 493.18 thousand professionals.
