Distribution of markets from which craftsmen obtain income 2018
The crafts industry in Morocco obtained most of its income from the domestic market as of 2018. This represented 88 percent of the turnovers. On the other hand, only 12 percent of the revenues were generated from external markets. This can be interpreted as a heavy dependence of Moroccan artisan communities on the internal market consumption of their products. Overall in Morocco, close to 1.4 million people were employed in the crafts industry as of 2018.
