Number of SEC-registered advisors 2017-2022, by AUM
Most of the SEC-registered investment advisors in the United States during the years from 2017 to 2022 were of smaller size, managing assets under management (AUM) between 100 million and one billion U.S. dollars. In 2022, there were a total of 8,791 registered investment advisors of this size, while the number of investment advisors managing assets worth one to five billion U.S. dollars reached 2,756.
