A 2019 survey conducted in India revealed that approximately 18 percent of severely disabled respondents required assistance from assistive technology devices. In comparison, around four percent of users with no disability needed assistive products. According to the source, disabled respondents reported not having AT products mostly because they could not afford the cost and did not have any knowledge of the products.
