The sales volume of heat-not-burn tobacco products in Japan reached 15.9 billion sticks in the first quarter of fiscal year 2024. In fiscal year 2023, the total sales exceeded 58 billion sticks. Heated tobacco is growing popular as an alternative to cigarettes, partially exempt from the stricter enforcement of smoking bans in Japan.
