In the Philippines, traditional trade accounted for over half of the total sales of FMCG goods as of November 2021. This was followed by big format modern trade which held 31 percent of the total sales in that period. Traditional trade refers to small grocery stores located in close proximity to consumers while big format modern trade are those that sells a variety of grocery items in a warehouse environment.
