In 2021, Avolon was the biggest aircraft lessor in India, with 53 leased aircrafts. It was followed by GECAS and DAE Capital, each with 39 and 33 leased aircrafts respectively. All Indian major airlines leased more than half of the aircrafts of their fleets. Vistara and SpiceJet owned only two to three percent of their fleets.
