Between 2018 and 2019, neighborhood and convenience stores were the major form of stores added to the Indian retail landscape with a share of 52 percent. Nevertheless, this share decreased significantly since the period of 2014 to 2015. While hypermarkets peaked in 2016 and 2017, they lost their share by 2018 and 2019.
