The European questionnaire on Information and Communication Technologies Data reveals that there exists a disparity between the internet usage of people according to gender. This disparity although present in most countries, differs widely in its severity.
By 2020, 32 percent of female internet users in Ireland used the internet to take part in any form of online learning activities. Among men this share was slightly lower with 27 percent. Over the last five years, 14 percent more men and 20 percent more women indicated that they used the internet for this purpose.
