In 2019, the total retail sales of consumer goods in China's fourth and fifth-tier cities grew by 11 percent compared to the previous year. In comparison, the annual growth of total retail sales valued at only 7.2 percent in China's first and second-tier cities. The lower-tier cities in China showed strong growth in retail sales of consumer goods in recent years.
