The Egyptian government's coronavirus (COVID-19) stimulus package amounted to 109.6 billion Egyptian pounds (equivalent to 6.99 billion U.S. dollars) as of October 2020. Of those, 12.5 percent was directed towards additional healthcare expenditure, amounting to 13.7 billion Egyptian pounds (870 million U.S. dollars). Moreover, the majority of the amount was set towards funding new medical equipment and supplies.
